Try ringing Reg Braddicks to ask whether they'e got any trade in bikes. I got one there for 49 quids and I've been ragging around on it for 3 years. The beauty is if you buy a second hander from a bike shop it is still checked for safety before sale, so it comes with working brakes etc :)
I'll ask my friend in cyclopaedia.
Did you know that UHW has a cyclist commuter group? Not sure how active they are but I can pass on details if you're on the UHW network

Do you have a bike for sale? Looking for sm to mid size frame able to carry panniers/rack. Bike will be used 365 days of year so an unloved (by you) but decent brand preferred (from experience a 'Halfords bike' will end up as landfill in 4 years). Need a 2nd hand bike as will get parked at the Heath where bike theft is rampant.
