New old ACE

In the 'Best of ACE' section I have uploaded Edition No.2 from April 1982.

It is interesting to note an article mentioning the Council trying to ruin Bute Park; how history repeats itself, together with the first Castles route.

Cardiff Castle - Caerphilly Castle - Merthyr Castle - Builth Well Castle - Welshpool Castle (Powis) - Barmouth - Harlech Castle - Criccieth Castle - Caernarvon Castle.

"Next year we hope to have two teams running, a fast team and a vets team"

Enjoy the trip down memory lane.  ACE Edition 2 (April 1982).

The sacred texts ? Its like discovering The Dead Sea Scrolls...

Putting aside the history here, the surreal quality of the writing (e.g. "Tracksuits now available for £10.95. Kazoos extra", "Wanted - a women for Paul" etc) is only exceeded by the quality of the times run (1.07 for a half ?)

Who is the one they call 'Stroller' Mick ?

Great stuff - thanks for sharing

I have the first 8 editions waiting to be scanned in. I'll be endeavouring to release them once a month or so, as we wouldn't want too much excitement at once.
Ahhhhh nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Stroller was a guy called Paul Kennedy. I think he was an English graduate - a fantastic sense of humour and a brilliant writer. Went to live on Guernsey I believe. There's contributions from Stroller for quite a few more editions - he had quite a taste for Guinness! Croups has always attracted an amazing diversity of talent - it certainly shows, doesn't it?
